چکیده
Abstract Aim Cardiovascular morbidity is increased in patients with psoriatic arthritis (PsA) compared to the general population. Several recent studies have indicated that pentraxin 3 (PTX-3) and cell adhesion molecules (CAMs) might be independent biomarkers of subclinical atherosclerosis. In this study, we aimed determine relationship CAMs PTX-3 carotid intima media thickness (CIMT) PsA compare CIMT serum levels these healthy controls (HCs). Method fulfilling CASPAR (Classification criteria for Psoriatic Arthritis) without traditional cardiovascular (CV) comorbidity HCs autoimmune and/or CV disease were included cross-sectional study. Carotid artery Doppler ultrasound examinations conducted by a single radiologist blinded participants’ clinical characteristics. Serum vascular molecule 1 (VCAM-1), intercellular (ICAM-1), E-selectin, concentrations analized. Results 43 (27 females, mean age 42.49±11.70 years, duration 9.37±7.96 years) 37 (28 42.16±11.38 included. regression analyses, found best predictors PsA. was significantly higher (0.63±0.18 vs. 0.49±0.10 mm, p<0.01). te group, PTX-3, ICAM-1, VCAM-1 also than HCs. correlated positively age, duration, (p<0.05). Conclusion our level comorbidity. This outcome highlights importance monitoring as risk factors patients.

Evaluation of the relationship between hepatic and cardiac iron overload with MRI T2* and carotid intima media thickness with Doppler ultrasound in beta thalassemia major patients
Background: Iron overload is caused early progression of atherosclerosis in beta thalassemia patients due to regular repeated blood transfusion. MRI T2* is a gold standard non-invasive method for detecting hepatic and cardiac iron overload. The aim of this study was the comparison of carotid intima media thickness (CIMT) in the patients and healthy control groups with Doppler ultrasound for ear...

Objective: The risk of cardiac death in diabetic patients is 3 times more than non-diabetics. But it is not determined who need cardiac screening. About 41% of diabetic patients with silent ischemia are missed. the carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT) and ankel brachial index are two independent, simple and non invasive method in vascular complications diagnosis in diabetic patients. The aim of ...
متن کاملA study of intima media thickness and their cardiovascular risk factors in patients with psoriatic arthritis.
INTRODUCTION Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA) is an inflammatory arthritis associated with Psoriasis. Its recognition as an inflammatory disease distinct from Rheumatoid Arthritis has put forward for consideration several questions regarding its specific CVS mortality and morbidity (9, 11, 16, 26). Carotid intima media thickness is a useful surrogate and sensitive marker to determine atherosclerosis e...

Comparison of the Intima-media Thickness of Carotid Artery in Children with Diabetes Type One and Control Group Using Ultrasound
Background & Aims: Diabetes is a very important factor for stroke due to blocked blood vessels. It can involve systemic and cerebrovascular arteries at the same time via microangiopathy and macroangiopathy. This project aimed to compare the intima-media thickness of carotid artery in children with diabetes type and the control group. Methods: In this case-control study, 50 children with the age...
